NODe stands for Nature's Opportunity for Development. We are a Guyanese organization that provides grants and technical support to Indigenous Peoples and local communities (IPLCs) across Guyana.
We believe that communities know their land, their needs, and their strengths better than anyone else. Our job is to listen, support, and help bring your ideas to life — whether that means funding a conservation project, helping you grow food sustainably, or developing community-based tourism.
NODe is currently in its pilot phase, operating in Regions 1 and 9. As we learn and grow, we plan to expand our support to communities across the whole country.
To be a trusted, community-driven organization that empowers Indigenous Peoples and local communities through sustainable support with long-term impact.
To manage grants and technical support for communities fairly and openly while protecting the environment and helping people build better lives.
Right now, during our pilot phase, NODe supports projects in three areas. These were chosen because they directly benefit communities and help protect Guyana's natural environment.
Projects that protect forests, rivers, wildlife, and other natural places that communities depend on.
Projects that allow visitors to experience your community and culture in ways that you define.
Projects that promote sustainable agriculture, food production, and long-term food security.
NODe's pilot focuses on two regions that are home to many Indigenous communities. As we grow, we aim to support communities in all regions of Guyana.
Whether you are a community seeking support or an organization looking to partner with us, we would love to hear from you.
